This page lists the problems we know about in the current version of OneSpace. Where we have tested a way around a problem, it is listed with that problem. Below them are problems that a later version fixed, with that version and its date. For everything that changed in each version, see Release notes.
If one of these problems affects you, email support@onespacesecurity.com.
Current
These apply to OneSpace 1.6.3, the current version on Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android.
- Windows: minimising OneSpace does not lock it. When you come back, the app does not ask for your PIN, and a live transfer that arrives while it is minimised opens in full without the PIN. Versions 1.6.1 and 1.6.2 locked the app on every switch to another window.
- iPhone, iPad and Android: the notification banner that OneSpace shows inside the app can appear over the PIN screen, and tapping it opens the app without the PIN.
- All platforms: on the sending device, the progress screen of a live transfer and the map with the receiver’s location stay visible while OneSpace is locked.
- iPhone, iPad and Android: a live transfer stops when OneSpace on the receiving phone or tablet goes to the background, for example when you switch to another app, and both devices show an error message. Earlier versions do the same.
- All platforms: if the sending device is offline for a while during a live transfer, about 30 seconds in our tests, the transfer can stall on both devices without an error message. After a shorter loss of connection, about 10 seconds in our tests, the transfer continues.
- All platforms: if you are signed in on more than one device and one of them declines a live transfer in the few seconds after another one accepted it, before the transfer has started, the transfer is cancelled for everyone.
- All platforms: if the sender cancels a live transfer before anyone has accepted it, the offer can stay open on the receiving device. Accepting it then starts nothing, and after about five minutes the transfer ends with an error that does not say the sender cancelled.
- All platforms: after a live transfer has finished, the sending device can show a message that the connection was lost, although the file arrived. This can happen when the receiving device runs a version of OneSpace older than 1.6.3.
-
iPhone, iPad and Android: if OneSpace is fully closed on the phone or tablet you want a file from with ClearSky, that device handles the request only the next time the app is opened on it. It can also show a notification that it received a file from your own account. That notification comes from your own request.
What to do: open OneSpace on the device that has the file, and the request goes through. - All platforms: two of the error messages for a refused send can name the wrong cause. When the recipient has not confirmed their OneSpace email address yet, the message asks you to confirm yours. When the recipient’s OneSpace account is not active, the message blames the recipient’s mail service.
- iPhone and iPad: someone you invite while contacts access is off does not appear in your contacts in OneSpace, not even after they join.
- All platforms: during sign-up, the text message with the code to confirm your phone number did not arrive for numbers outside the Netherlands. Version 1.5.1 (19 August 2026) and an update to our servers on 4 September 2026 changed how the number is sent. Since version 1.5.3 (9 September 2026), the form asks you to leave out the country code and cleans up the number before the text is sent. Texts to Dutch numbers arrive. We have not yet been able to check that texts to numbers outside the Netherlands arrive now, so this item stays on the list until we have.
Resolved
On a Mac, version 1.6.3 needs macOS 12 or later. Macs with macOS 10.15 or 11 stay on 1.6.2, so the problems below that 1.6.3 fixed still happen there.
- All platforms: when you were signed in on two devices and one of them declined a live transfer after the other had accepted it, the sender and the accepting device both showed a message that the transfer was cancelled, although the transfer still completed. Fixed in 1.6.3, 25 October 2026 (Mac: 28 October 2026). A decline in the few seconds before the transfer starts is still listed under Current.
- All platforms: a file that had only partly arrived, because the transfer was still running or had been cancelled or stopped, was listed under Files as if it were complete. Fixed in 1.6.3, 25 October 2026 (Mac: 28 October 2026).
- All platforms: if the sending device lost its connection during a live transfer, the transfer could pick up again and then never finish, with no error message on either device. Fixed in 1.6.3, 25 October 2026 (Mac: 28 October 2026), for a short loss of about 10 seconds in our tests. A longer loss is still listed under Current.
- iPhone, iPad and Android: if OneSpace was not running and you tapped the notification for a live transfer, the screen turned grey after you entered your PIN, and the transfer offer was gone. Fixed in 1.6.3, 25 October 2026.
- Mac: for a subscription bought on an iPhone or iPad, the plan screen on a Mac showed only the link to manage it on our website. Fixed in 1.6.2, 19 October 2026: the plan screen now also links to the subscription in the App Store.
- Android: when the phone was locked and a live transfer to your account arrived from one of your other devices, the phone could decline it before you saw it, and the transfer then also disappeared on the other device. Fixed in 1.6.1, 7 October 2026.
- Android: if you reached a limit of your plan while sending and closed the upgrade screen, the app could ask for your PIN, and you had to start the transfer you were preparing again. Fixed in 1.6.1, 7 October 2026.
- iPhone, iPad and Android: right after you bought Premium in the app, the plan screen could still show your old plan until you pulled down on it or opened it again. Your purchase was active straight away. Fixed in 1.6.1, 7 October 2026.
- iPhone, iPad and Android: the image at the top of the plan screen still showed the old “OneSpace Spectrum” logo. Fixed in 1.6.1, 7 October 2026.
- All platforms: deleting your account could end with an error message and an empty profile page instead of the signed-out screen. The deletion itself did go through. Fixed in 1.5.5, 24 September 2026.
