This page lists what changed in each OneSpace release. The four apps (iOS, Android, macOS, Windows) ship together as one version; each release below has a general part and a platform-specific part. The app stores show a short summary; the full list lives here. Known problems and the versions that fixed them are listed on a separate page, Known issues.
1.6.3 — released 25 October 2026 on Windows, iPhone, iPad and Android, and 28 October 2026 on Mac
Released 25 October 2026 on Windows (1.6.3.0), iPhone/iPad (build 950) and Android (952), and 28 October 2026 on Mac (build 948). iPhone and iPad users go from 1.6.1 straight to 1.6.3, so this update also brings them everything listed under 1.6.2, including the welcome offer for people new to Premium.
General
- Links you send to people without OneSpace now need a password of at least 12 characters. Common passwords, passwords of one repeated character and passwords of only digits are refused, and the app shows the reason under the password field. “Generate a strong password” fills in a password of five random words that you can copy.
- While OneSpace is locked, a live transfer no longer shows who is sending, the file name or the map. A new offer only says that a transfer is waiting, and a transfer that is already running stays behind the PIN screen. You see everything again after you unlock the app.
- If the sending device loses its connection for a short time (about 10 seconds in our tests), a live transfer now continues once the connection is back.
- After a live transfer has finished, the sending device no longer shows a message that the connection was lost. This can still happen if the receiving device runs an older version of OneSpace.
- When you are signed in on two devices and one of them declines a live transfer after the other has accepted it, the sender and the accepting device no longer show a message that the transfer was cancelled.
- If you accept a live transfer on one device after another of your devices has already accepted it, you now see one error message instead of two. The transfer stays with the device that accepted first; to receive it on the other device, ask the sender to send it again.
- A file that was not received completely no longer shows up under Files. This applies to every file you receive: a transfer that is cancelled, stopped or cut off leaves nothing behind in Files.
- When a send is refused, the app now names the reason in more cases instead of showing a general error. It also checks the whole email address you enter for a recipient.
- If an app update signs you out, the app now tells you: “You were signed out by an app update. Please sign in again.”
Platform-specific
- Windows: clicking a web link in Outlook or another app no longer opens OneSpace. Starting OneSpace while it is already open now brings the open window to the front instead of starting a second copy.
- Mac and Windows: switching to another window no longer closes the send screen or asks for your PIN. On a Mac, OneSpace asks for your PIN once it has been hidden, minimised or fully covered by other windows for more than 20 seconds.
- Mac: this version needs macOS 12 or later. Macs with macOS 10.15 or 11 cannot install it and stay on 1.6.2.
- iPhone and iPad: the screen before the contacts permission request now has one button, “Continue”, which always leads to the iOS request. If you choose “Don’t Allow”, the app tells you that contacts access is off and that you can turn it on in Settings. You can invite people by email or phone number without giving OneSpace access to your contacts. OneSpace reads your contacts on your device and does not upload your address book.
- iPhone and iPad: saved passwords now fill in both your username and your password on the sign-in screen.
- iPhone, iPad and Android: if OneSpace was closed and you tap the notification for a live transfer, the app now asks for your PIN and then opens the transfer, instead of showing a grey screen. Tapping a notification while OneSpace is locked no longer opens the app without your PIN.
- Android: when you use ClearSky on another device to get a file from your phone, the phone handles the request again while OneSpace runs in the background.
- Android: fixed a cause of the app not responding at start-up.
1.6.2 — released 15 October 2026 on Windows and 19 October 2026 on Mac and Android
Released 15 October 2026 on Windows (1.6.2.0) and 19 October 2026 on Mac (build 947) and Android (950). iPhone and iPad: 1.6.3 brings the changes listed here (see the 1.6.3 entry above).
General
- The password-reset screens now say what a reset changes and what it keeps.
- A device that declines a live transfer no longer ignores later live transfers until you restart the app.
- The in-app request for a review (Android and Mac) now also counts a completed live transfer, sent or received, as a successful transfer.
- Closing the send or receive screen while a transfer is still running no longer causes errors in the background. These errors did not show in the app and did not stop the transfer.
Platform-specific
- Windows: unlocking the app uses your PIN only; the app no longer tries a Windows Hello check first. The dialog for choosing a file or folder now opens once instead of twice.
- Mac and Windows: the upgrade screen no longer shows outdated free-plan limits.
- Mac: if you subscribed on your iPhone or iPad, the plan screen on your Mac now also has a link to manage the subscription in the App Store.
- Android: there is now a welcome offer for people new to Premium.
- Android: fixed a rare crash.
1.6.1 — released 5 October 2026 on Windows, 7 October 2026 on iPhone, iPad and Android, and 11 October 2026 on Mac
Released 5 October 2026 on Windows (1.6.1.0), 7 October 2026 on iPhone/iPad (build 946) and Android (949), and 11 October 2026 on Mac (build 946). Mac users go from 1.5.5 straight to 1.6.1, so this update also brings them everything listed under 1.6.0. Windows received 1.6.1 first: the Windows package of 1.6.0 was never published because of the start-up defect fixed here, so this update also brings everything listed under 1.6.0 to Windows.
General
- The last place that still said “OneSpace Spectrum”, the header of the plan screen and of the purchase window on Mac and Windows, now says OneSpace Premium.
- After you buy or restore a Premium subscription from the plan screen, the plan screen shows your new plan straight away. It used to keep showing the old plan until you pulled to refresh or reopened the screen.
- A device of yours that is locked or in the background no longer declines a live transfer by itself; only you can decline. If a transfer was declined or cancelled before you accepted it on another device, the app now says so instead of showing a general error.
- Fixed a rare internal error in the plan-limit check when the app could not read your plan at that moment; the check now treats a missing limit as “no limit” and the transfer continues.
Platform-specific
- Windows: the app did not open after installation from the Microsoft Store: the window never appeared. Every Store version since August 2026 was affected; the package declared the wrong program as the one to start. This update fixes the package. Install it from the Store and start OneSpace from the Start menu; no reinstall is needed. If you had copied the program files out of the installation folder as a workaround, you can delete that copy.
- Windows, also new with this update because Windows skipped 1.6.0: buying OneSpace Premium in the Windows app is not possible, so the purchase screen now has a “Buy on the website” button that opens the OneSpace pricing page in your browser, and the app checks your plan again when you come back to it. If you subscribed on our website, the plan screen has a button that takes you to our website to manage or cancel the subscription. Everything under “General” in the 1.6.0 entry below applies to Windows as well.
- Android: the purchase screen now offers the yearly subscription next to the monthly one.
- iPhone, iPad and Android: if you close the upgrade screen that appears when you reach a limit of your plan, you return to the transfer you were preparing, with your file and recipients still there, instead of being asked for your PIN and starting over.
- Mac: cancelling a purchase in the store dialog no longer shows a message saying Premium is now active. If you subscribed through the Mac App Store, the plan screen now also has a “Manage in the Mac App Store” link next to the website link.
1.6.0 — released 5 October 2026
Released 5 October 2026 on iPhone/iPad and Android. macOS and Windows: this version was superseded by 1.6.1 before release; Mac and Windows users receive 1.6.1 directly.
General
- The paid plan is now called OneSpace Premium.
- The plan screen now also shows how many recipients a transfer can have, next to the transfers you have left this month and the largest file you can send. The numbers come from your plan.
- When ClearSky is not part of your plan, the app now says so and shows how to get Premium, instead of a general connection error. The plan screen marks ClearSky as “Included with Premium”.
- The app checks your plan again straight away when you confirm your email address and after a purchase or a restore, instead of up to a minute and a half later.
- If a restored purchase cannot be checked with our servers, the app now says “Restore failed, please try again” instead of “No purchases found”.
- If our servers are slow to answer when you open the app, you are signed in on your last known plan within seconds instead of waiting up to a minute.
- If you subscribed on our website, a “Manage subscription” link on the plan screen opens our website, which emails you a link to manage or cancel the subscription.
- Licence keys and vouchers can now only be redeemed on our website, no longer in the app, on any platform.
- The in-app request for a review (iOS, Android and Mac) now comes after your first successful file transfer, sent or received, instead of the third. It does not appear in a session where a send or a receive failed.
- Under the hood: we rebuilt the in-app purchase code. On iOS, Android and Mac the app now records usage events for sign-up, sign-in, the purchase screen and restoring a purchase. These events carry no name, email address or account ID. We also did maintenance on the build and release pipeline and the test system.
Platform-specific
- iOS and Android: a new purchase screen for OneSpace Premium opens when you reach a limit of your plan, and from the plan screen. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, you can now manage or cancel the subscription from the plan screen, inside the app.
- iOS, Android and Mac: a subscription bought in the app is now credited to the account you are signed in with, also right after you sign out and create a new account.
1.5.5 — 24 September 2026
Released on all four stores (iOS, macOS, Android, Windows) on 24 September 2026, the same day it was submitted.
General
- Deleting your account now signs you out cleanly, without an error message afterwards.
- Under the hood: the iOS and macOS apps are now built with Apple’s newer package system (Swift Package Manager), which prepares them for future updates; maintenance of the build and release pipeline and of the test system.

1.5.4 — 20 September 2026
Released on iOS, macOS and Android on 20 September 2026 and on Windows on 21 September (submitted 18 September).
General
- Adding a contact who could not be linked no longer leaves a leftover entry in your address book. “Try again” now retries the whole step.
- A file that cannot be saved right away (for example because another program has it open) is retried briefly and then reported, instead of failing silently. A transfer whose file has already been saved is never marked as failed afterwards.
- Under the hood: maintenance of the build and release pipeline, and better crash reporting.
Platform-specific
- Windows: the window title now reads “OneSpace”. On new installs the OneSpace files folder is created in your user folder, so it no longer lands inside OneDrive when your Documents folder is redirected there; existing folders stay where they are. Error reporting on Windows now records app sessions, so problems reach us sooner.
- iOS: a clean-up of the app's permission configuration, with no visible change.
1.5.3 — 9 September 2026
Released on all four stores on 9 September 2026 (submitted 8 September).
General
- Signing in with a wrong password now says so, instead of asking you to try again later.
- Connecting with a contact: clear messages when your profile still needs a name or a confirmed email address, and no more “success” when the connection did not happen.
- Phone numbers: the form tells you to leave out the country code, and the number is cleaned up before the verification text is sent.
- Your plan updates on your other signed-in devices shortly after you redeem a licence, without signing in again.
- Push notifications recover by themselves if the registration was ever lost.
- If our servers are briefly unreachable when you open the app, you stay signed in.
- Under the hood: upload integrity checks no longer derive anything from the content of your files.
Platform-specific
- Windows: the app could fail to open on some PCs because its local database lived in the Documents folder, where OneDrive or another program could lock it. The database now lives in the app's own folder, an existing one is moved over automatically, and if it still cannot be opened you see a message instead of nothing. The app also remembers your sign-in between launches again.
- Mac: the live-location indicator during a Live Transfer no longer keeps loading when location access was not granted.
1.5.2 — 6 September 2026
General
- Maintenance release: the component that stores your sign-in details securely on your device was upgraded. Existing installs migrate on first launch through a protected path; nothing changes in how the app looks or works.

- Android: built for the latest Android platform requirements.
1.5.1 — 19 August 2026
General
- Files from a previous account no longer stay visible after switching accounts on the same device.
- Transfer session setup no longer hangs on the first attempt.
- Push notifications are shown again.
- Phone verification: the country code is sent correctly. Verification texts are confirmed to reach Dutch numbers; delivery to numbers in other countries is not yet verified.
- The app no longer hammers the server after a sign-in problem; sign-in recovers calmly.
- A short in-app request for a review after a successful transfer.
- Version numbers now read the same in every store and in the app.
Platform-specific
- iOS: sharing a file into OneSpace from another app works again on iOS 18 and later.
- Android: a start-up crash on some devices is fixed; Android 13 and later now ask for notification permission.
1.5 — 13 August 2026
General
- The app was rebuilt on the current versions of its foundations (Flutter, Firebase, the purchase and subscription components) on all four platforms. This is the first coordinated release on iOS, Android, macOS and Windows in three years.
