OneSpace does two things with files. It moves them between your own devices, and it sends them to other people. The steps are different, so this article covers both.
Get a file from one of your own devices
Both devices need to be signed in to the same OneSpace account. Say the file is on your computer and you want it on your phone.
- On your phone, open the Files tab.
- Choose your computer from the list of devices. OneSpace connects to it and shows its files. Your computer needs to be switched on, with OneSpace running.
- Select the file you want and tap Download to device.
- Go to the Home screen and accept the download.
The file is now on your phone. It works the same way in the other direction: always start on the device where you want the file to end up.
Send a file to someone else
The person you send to does not need a paid account (see Do the people I send files to need OneSpace, or a paid account?).
- Choose the file and enter the email address of the person you are sending it to. You can also enter a mobile phone number.
- If that person is not one of your OneSpace contacts, OneSpace asks you to set a one-time password for this file. Set it.
- Send the file.
They get an email with a link, or a text message if you entered a phone number. They open the link and enter the password to download the file.
Give them the password some other way than the link, for example by phone or in a separate message. Then the link on its own is not enough to open the file.
